Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Lockimate ("we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Lockimate app and related services (the "Service"). Lockimate turns photos you choose into animated lock-screen wallpapers. We've tried to keep this clear; if anything is unclear, email hello@lockimate.com.
The short version: To animate a photo, you send it to us and we pass it to a third-party AI provider that generates the video. We do not require an account, we don't use your photos to train AI models, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your contacts, precise location, or photo library beyond the specific images you choose to upload.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the core feature: turning your photo into an animated wallpaper;
- To screen uploads with automated content moderation that blocks unlawful or explicit imagery before it is processed;
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including debugging and abuse prevention;
- To enforce free-trial limits and manage paid subscriptions;
- To understand which features and styles people use (in aggregate) so we can improve the product; and
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not use your photos or generated output to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. The AI Provider and Other Service Providers
To animate your photo, we transmit it to a third-party AI generation provider, fal.ai, which processes the image to produce the video and returns it to us. We instruct our provider to use your photo only to generate your result and not to retain it longer than necessary or use it to train their models; their handling is also governed by their own privacy terms (https://fal.ai/privacy-policy).
We also rely on the following categories of providers, who may process data on our behalf under appropriate contractual protections:
- Cloud hosting & storage (Cloudflare) — to run our backend and store images and generated wallpapers;
- App distribution & payments (Apple App Store) — Apple is the merchant of record and processes your purchase; we do not receive your payment card details.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
4. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above:
- Uploaded photos and final wallpapers are retained so you can re-download your creations and so we can operate the Service;
- Low-resolution previews may be retained for product analytics;
- High-resolution renders are treated as temporary and deleted automatically after a limited period;
- Generation records (settings, timestamps, device ID) are retained for service operation and abuse prevention.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see "Your Rights"). We may retain limited information where required by law or for legitimate business records.
5. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information based on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request); our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service and prevent abuse); consent (which you may withdraw); and compliance with legal obligations.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
- You can request deletion of your uploaded photos and generated content by emailing hello@lockimate.com.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
- We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
7. International Transfers
We and our providers may process your information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes — for example, changing the AI provider that receives your photos — we will update the date above and, where appropriate, ask you to re-confirm your consent in the app.

Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lockimate mobile application and related services (together, the "Service"), operated by the provider named in our Impressum ("Lockimate," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. The Service
Lockimate transforms photos you provide into short animated "Live Photo" lock-screen wallpapers using artificial intelligence. You choose a photo and a set of creative options; we generate an animated result you can save to your device and set as your wallpaper. Features, limits, and pricing may change over time.
3. Your Content and the Rights You Must Have
"Your Content" means the photos and any inputs you submit to the Service. You retain ownership of Your Content. You are solely responsible for it, and by submitting it you represent and warrant that:
- You own Your Content or have all rights, licenses, and permissions necessary to use it and to have it processed by the Service;
- Your Content does not depict any identifiable real person without that person's consent (and, for minors, the consent of a parent or guardian);
- Your Content does not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other right of any third party; and
- Your Content and your use of the Service comply with all applicable laws.
You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transmit, process, and modify Your Content solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service — including transmitting it to our AI processing provider to generate your wallpaper. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except for residual copies retained for a limited period in routine backups or as required by law. We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.
4. AI-Generated Output
Generated wallpapers are produced by automated AI systems, including a third-party AI provider (fal.ai). AI output is probabilistic: it may be inaccurate, unexpected, or fail to match your input, and similar inputs may produce similar outputs for other users. We make no guarantee regarding the quality, accuracy, or fitness of any generated result. To the extent we hold any rights in the output, we assign them to you, subject to your compliance with these Terms; you are responsible for how you use generated output.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to create, upload, or distribute content that:
- depicts a real person without their consent, including any non-consensual, sexual, intimate, or deceptive ("deepfake") imagery;
- is sexually explicit, depicts minors inappropriately, or is otherwise unlawful;
- is harassing, hateful, defamatory, or promotes violence or self-harm;
- infringes intellectual property or violates anyone's privacy or publicity rights; or
- impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation.
Our full Content Policy sets out these rules in detail and how we enforce them. Lockimate is not a "nudifier," "undressing," or deepfake application, and must not be used as one. We use automated systems to detect and block sexual, explicit, or otherwise objectionable content before it is processed, and accounts or devices found violating this policy may be suspended and, where required by law, reported to the appropriate authorities.
You also agree not to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, circumvent usage limits or security of, or build a competing service from, the Service. We may remove content and suspend or terminate access for any violation.
6. Purchases and Subscriptions
The Service may offer one-time purchases and auto-renewing subscriptions sold through the Apple App Store. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel them in your Apple account settings. Apple is the merchant of record for these purchases: Apple processes payment and handles billing, taxes, and refunds under its own terms. We never receive your payment card details. If you are an EU consumer, your statutory withdrawal and refund rights under applicable law are unaffected.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service itself — including its software, design, branding, and content we provide — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third parties, including our AI processing provider, cloud hosting, and the Apple App Store. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL LOCKIMATE OR ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD 50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lockimate from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification) will survive.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as within the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence — nothing in these Terms deprives you of those rights.

Content Policy
This Content Policy explains what you may and may not create, upload, or animate with the Lockimate app and website (the “Service”). It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to follow this Policy. We enforce it with zero tolerance: content that breaks these rules is blocked or removed, the responsible device or account may be permanently banned, and serious violations are reported to the appropriate authorities.
What Lockimate is — and is not
Lockimate turns a photo you provide into a short, animated Live Photo for your iPhone lock screen. Lockimate is not a “nudifier,” “undressing,” face-swap, or deepfake tool, and must never be used as one. It may be used only to animate images you are allowed to use and that comply with this Policy.
In particular, you must never use Lockimate to:
- digitally remove or alter clothing on an image of a real person;
- generate nude, sexual, or otherwise intimate imagery of any identifiable person;
- create non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) of any kind; or
- produce any sexual or exploitative content involving a minor.
Content that is never allowed
You must not upload, create, or attempt to animate any content in the categories below. This list is not exhaustive; we may act on anything we reasonably consider harmful, unlawful, or objectionable.
1. Child sexual abuse and endangerment (CSAM)
We have absolute zero tolerance for any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits a minor (a person under 18) — real, AI-generated, cartoon, or otherwise fictional, and including the sexualized animation of an otherwise innocent image of a child. This content is illegal everywhere. We screen for known abuse material, block it, preserve the relevant information, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the competent law-enforcement authorities as required by law. Never use Lockimate to upload, create, or solicit this content under any circumstances.
2. Non-consensual and intimate imagery
No content depicting an identifiable real person without their consent — in particular any sexual, nude, intimate, suggestive, or otherwise compromising depiction, and any “deepfake” or manipulated media intended to deceive, defame, harass, or impersonate. You must have each depicted person’s consent (and a parent’s or guardian’s consent for anyone under the age of majority).
Under the EU AI Act and other applicable law, creating or sharing AI-generated or manipulated intimate imagery of a person without their consent is illegal. We treat any such content as a serious violation and act on it accordingly.
3. Adult sexual content and nudity
No pornography, sexually explicit content, or graphic nudity, and no content primarily intended to cause sexual arousal.
4. Violence, gore, and weapons
No graphic violence, gore, or mutilation, no imagery glorifying or threatening violence, and no content promoting the use of weapons to harm people.
5. Hate, harassment, and extremism
No content that attacks, dehumanizes, harasses, or incites hatred or violence against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic, and no terrorist or violent-extremist content or symbols.
6. Self-harm and dangerous acts
No content that promotes, glorifies, or instructs suicide, self-harm, eating disorders, or other seriously dangerous acts.
7. Illegal, infringing, and deceptive content
No content that is otherwise unlawful; that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights; that depicts illegal drugs or activity; or that impersonates a person or organization or is designed to defraud or mislead.
You must have the rights
You may animate only images you own or are otherwise authorized to use. Before each generation you confirm, in the app, that you have the necessary rights and that the image complies with this Policy. You are solely responsible for the content you submit and for how you use the results.
How we enforce this Policy
- Automated screening. Before an image is processed, automated systems screen it for sexual, explicit, violent, and otherwise objectionable content, and our AI processing provider performs additional checks, including hash-matching against known child sexual abuse material.
- Per-image attestation. Each generation requires you to affirm that you hold the rights and that the content complies with this Policy.
- Review and action. We may review reported or flagged content and remove it, block the offending image, and suspend or permanently ban the device or account responsible.
- Reporting to authorities. Where the law requires, or where there is a risk to a person’s safety, we report content and related information to the appropriate authorities (for child sexual abuse material, to NCMEC and/or law enforcement).
Reporting a violation
If you encounter content or behavior that violates this Policy, report it immediately to abuse@lockimate.com (you can also use “Report a problem” in the app’s Profile tab). Please include any detail that helps us locate the content. We review reports promptly, act where appropriate, and will never retaliate against good-faith reports.
Consequences of violations
Depending on severity, violations may result in content being blocked or removed, loss of access to the Service, a permanent ban of the device or account, and — for unlawful content — referral to law enforcement. We cooperate with valid legal requests.
Copyright and intellectual property
We respect intellectual-property rights and expect you to do the same. If you believe content processed through the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice with the details required under applicable law (such as the U.S. DMCA) to abuse@lockimate.com, and we will respond appropriately, including removing infringing material and, where warranted, banning repeat infringers.
